Acupuncture, moxibustion, and acupressure, the treatment |
for several diseases through the stimulation of the skin, started no |
less than 2500 years ago. Owing to their splendid effect, the |
methods did not vanish, were introduced into Japan around 1500 |
years ago, and still have not lost their popularity. |
The skin is closely connected with internal organs. |
The particular points of the skin certainly show a change if you have
|
a disease in an internal organs. These points sre meridian points |
called "Tubo" in Japanese. |
The body itself has the spontaneous ability to cure a |
physical condition in disorder. However, in the case of heavy |
diseases, it is not easy to cure by the original function of the body
|
itself. Stimulation of "Tubo" heightens the function to work
fully. |
It shows an effect not only on curing diseases, but also on building
|
up physical strength and preventing diseases. |
When you have stiffness in the shoulders, you may touch |
the stiff part unconsciously and try to relieve it by pressing, rubbing, |
and tapping. The part you touch is exactly the place where |
"Tubo" are situated. Therefore, it is best to treat the stiff
and |
painful parts you feel. |
Specialists select "Tubo" more intricately. For example,
|
they treat "Tubo" in the lower back for stiffness in the shoulders. |
Some of such point selection is explained in the following pages. |
